To put it very simply: I find my joy in helping others.
My greatest joy comes when there is an “aha” moment.
As a collaborator who honors individual strengths and takes an active role in getting the work done, whatever the work may be, the “aha” comes when the team knows its goal has been reached.
As a volunteer event coordinator for an annual benefit concert in my hometown, it is when there is a standing ovation at the end of the concert and again when the local and worldwide charity recipients received over $35,000.
As a mission-driven educator, that moment comes when the student “gets it” whatever the “it” may be – the right answer, the right choice, the right response in a given circumstance.
Regardless of the situation, one of my strengths is taking complex information and making it understandable. I’m mission oriented and passionate about learning and seeing the glass half full.
The bottom line is: Whether it’s in a part-time, full-time, or a volunteer capacity, the job title is not important to me. What is important is being part of a team improving the lives of others.
